The Statesboro Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at Midtown Bar and Grill on 5/5/2018.


On 5/5, at approximately 12:03 am, the Statesboro Police Department responded Midtown Bar and Grill in reference to a call of a fight with shots fired. Upon arrival, officers encountered a large, chaotic crowd in the parking lot of the business. Officers of the Statesboro Police Department, Georgia Southern University Police Department, deputies of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, and troopers from Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene to assist with crowd control and scene management while detectives of the Statesboro Police Department began investigating.


Two victims with apparent gunshot wounds were located in the crowd and transported by EMS to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment. Neither victims’ injuries were life threatening and both are in stable condition at this time.


Through investigation, detectives of the Statesboro Police Department have identified Frank Junior Emeka, 22 of Conyers, as the primary suspect regarding the shots fired.



Warrants have been obtained for Emeka’s arrest in connection to this incident. We encourage Emeka to turn himself in to the nearest law enforcement agency immediately. If you have any information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts, please contact us immediately. If you believe you have seen the suspect out in public, please contact us or the nearest law enforcement agency or call 911 immediately. Do not try to make contact with this subject yourself, he is considered armed and dangerous.
