The Statesboro Police Department stopped a crime in progress and arrested 2 suspects on charges related to Entering Auto as a result.

On 2/13/19 at 3:55 am, officers of the Statesboro Police Department’s Patrol Bureau responded to Stadium Walk Apartments in reference to 3 male subjects looking into vehicles and pulling on door handles. Upon arrival, officers observed one male subject sitting in a vehicle, holding a firearm and inspecting it with a flashlight. Officers detained the subject, later identified as Creuntae Floyd.

Simultaneously, other officers encountered 2 other male subjects fleeing the area on foot. Upon seeing the officers, the subjects turned and ran back in the direction they came from and between the apartment buildings. An officer was able to apprehend and detain one of the fleeing subjects, later identified as Zion Ricks. Officers were not able to locate the third suspect at the time.

Further investigation and search of the subjects uncovered another firearm, jewelry and a cell phone. When officers ran the tags on the vehicle the suspects drove, it came back as stolen out of Laurens County. Both suspects were transported to the Bulloch County Jail without incident.

This case has been turned over to detectives of the Statesboro Police Department’s Operations Bureau for further investigation.
