Arrest made in Homicide Investigation from 10/2/2017

The Statesboro Police Department has arrested Melissa Kenimer on charges of Felony Murder, Concealing a Death, Transaction Card Theft, and Transaction Card Fraud in relation to a suspicious death investigation that began on 10/2/2017.

 

The investigation began when the manager of Palmetto Court on the 100 block of East Parrish Street contacted the Statesboro Police Department to report finding human remains. Officers and detectives, working with the Bulloch County Coroner’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Lab, were able to confirm that the remains were those of Mr. David Kenimer, age 58, of Statesboro. Mr. Kenimer was the victim of a homicide.

 

Melissa Kenimer was arrested on outstanding warrants on 10/4/2017 and is currently awaiting further court action at the Bulloch County Jail. Detectives were able to connect Kenimer directly to the homicide of Mr. Kenimer, who was her relative.

 

The case has been turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. All further inquiries should be directed to that office.
