The Statesboro Police Department is investigating 4 incidents of shots fired that occurred in various locations over the weekend.
On 10/6/2017 at approximately 10:20 pm, officers of the Statesboro Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at Parker’s Endzone on Lanier Drive. One gunshot injury was reported from the emergency room at East Georgia Regional Medical in relation to the incident a couple of hours later, the injury was not life-threatening.
On 10/7/2017 at approximately 1:40 am, officers responded to a call of shots fired at the Aspen Heights apartment complex. No injuries have been reported in relation to this incident at this time
On 10/8/2017 at approximately 1:00 am, officers responded to a call of shots fired at Copper Beech Town Homes. Through investigation, officers identified Brandon Jones as a suspect. Jones was placed under arrest on charges of Reckless Conduct and Discharging a Firearm within 50 Yards of a Public Highway and transported to the Bulloch County Jail. No injuries have been reported in relation to this incident.
On 10/8/2017 at approximately 11:10 pm, officers responded to a call of shots fired at The Renaissance apartment complex. While investigating this incident, officers arrested Quentin Williams for Carrying a Concealed Weapon and transported him to the Bulloch County Jail. No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.
Detectives of the Statesboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau have been assigned to and are investigating these incidents. The investigations remain ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
Chief of Police Mike Broadhead urges anyone with information regarding these incidents to please come forward and says, “As a community, we simply cannot tolerate acts of gun violence. Every member of our community has a vested interest in keeping our city safe, and we need the help of the community to send a strong message that will not allow lawlessness to exist. We ask for our citizens to call us with information when they know of any person in possession of an illegal firearm, for unlawfully carrying a firearm, and certainly for discharging firearms in public. The police department will aggressively pursue cases of gun violence and we will work to seek maximum penalties for those convicted of using a firearm in the commission of a crime.”
